21 December 2010: 2010 ended up being a great year for brands going viral. Some interesting insights have come out of the Viral Ad Network’s 2010 infographic, which was created using the network’s weekly data. One of the most impressive statistics is the huge increase in Facebook’s viral influence. Three times as much sharing occurred on the social networking site in the second half of 2010 compared with the first. This development is of great importance to both marketers and advertisers, as now if a campaign goes viral it is will sustain its virality longer due to the larger extent of sharing within Facebook. Aside from the growing strength of Facebook, the infographic also shows the power of well-developed online series.
